Lace

Lace is a cloth with an open mesh pattern made of yarn or thread and manufactured by hand or machine. It used to be made of linen, silk, gold, or silver thread, but now cotton thread is used more often. The fineness of the yarn, the number of yarns per square inch, the density of the background mesh, and the sophistication of the pattern or design are all factors that influence the quality of lace.
